Dani Rowe
Choreographer for Season 3
Dani Rowe is an internationally acclaimed choreographer and currently serves as Artistic Director of Oregon Ballet Theatre.
She began her career as a principal dancer with The Australian Ballet, where she performed for a decade before joining Christopher Wheeldon’s Morphoses and Houston Ballet. Rowe later became a member of Nederlands Dans Theater 1, collaborating with renowned choreographers including Jiří Kylián, Crystal Pite, Mats Ek, Paul Lightfoot, and Sol León. Her extensive experience as a performer, choreographer, and director at the highest levels of the field has shaped a distinct curatorial vision that pairs innovative, contemporary works with classical and neoclassical masterworks.
Rowe has created numerous ballets for leading companies such as San Francisco Ballet, Pacific Northwest Ballet, Oregon Ballet Theatre, and Royal New Zealand Ballet, among others.
Her 2023 work MADCAP for San Francisco Ballet was praised as a “triumph” by the San Francisco Chronicle. Her short film Corps-en-tine, created for The Australian Ballet, has surpassed one million online views and was described by VOGUE as “one of the best things to come out of quarantine.”
Forthcoming commissions include new works for Joffrey Ballet and Zurich Ballet.
Rowe joins Pointeworks this season with her powerful choreographic work “Unsaid”, originally created on San Francisco Ballet. This work will be restaged and performed in Southern California this summer.
