Young Dancer Mentorship Program — Irvine 2025

The Pointeworks Season II Young Dancer Mentorship Program was a free outreach initiative serving nine pre-professional dancers from across Southern California, from San Diego to Los Angeles. Hosted alongside Pointeworks’ 2025 California season, the program offered participants an immersive, behind-the-scenes experience inside a working professional ballet company. Dancers took company class at the theater, observed rehearsals and performance preparation, and engaged directly with Pointeworks artists, gaining firsthand exposure to professional standards, expectations, and career realities.

The impact of this initiative lies in access and equity. By removing financial barriers and opening its creative process to emerging artists, Pointeworks provided meaningful mentorship at a pivotal stage in each dancer’s development. Through one-on-one guidance and candid conversations about contracts, freelancing, and career sustainability, participants left better informed, more confident, and better prepared to navigate the transition from training to the professional field—reinforcing Pointeworks’ mission to support the next generation of dance artists through education, transparency, and community investment.
