Where ‘No Storms Come’ is Taking Shape
For the past week, our artists have been immersed in creation—bringing Where No Storms Come to life in the studio.
Created by acclaimed choreographer Hélène Simoneau with an original score by Pointeworks Resident Composer Katie Jenkins, this new ballet is growing through an extraordinary collaboration between dancers and musicians, with every rehearsal revealing new movement, new musical ideas, and new discoveries.
This new work brings together five exceptional dancers — Marcos Ramirez, Angel Ramirez, Nicole Von Enck, Sophie Williams, and Maine Chernjavsky —alongside a live string quartet featuring Jeremy Klein, Robert Bui, Francesca Fetten, and Veronika Manchur.
This week also included our first live music rehearsals, where choreography and score began to merge into one shared artistic language. It's a privilege to witness a new ballet take shape from its very first moments, and we're excited to share a glimpse of that process with you.

"I've never been given the opportunity to work with a composer this early on. Having the dancers, musicians, and composer together in the room from the very beginning has been incredibly special and has allowed us to create the work together from its earliest moments."
— Hélène Simoneau, Choreographer
"The residency week at Pointeworks was one of the most collaborative experiences of my entire career so far. Hélène didn't fully form the piece beforehand, but instead created it in the studio. That process pushed creative boundaries and resulted in one of the most integrated works I've ever been a part of."
— Katie Jenkins, Resident Composer
