Ángel Ramírez

Ángel Ramírez was born in Trinidad, Cuba, and received his early training at the National Ballet School of Cuba in Havana, where he studied for eight years. In his graduating year, he was awarded the Gold Medal at the Cuban International Ballet Competition. Upon graduation, Ramírez joined the National Ballet of Cuba, performing in numerous classical works.

He was later invited to continue his training at The Rock School for Dance Education in Philadelphia, where he competed at Youth America Grand Prix, earning the Grand Prix Award in Philadelphia.

Ramírez joined Atlanta Ballet in 2021, where he has since performed leading roles in ballets including George Balanchine’s Coppélia and Prodigal Son, Yuri Possokhov’s The Nutcracker, among others. His repertoire also includes works by Cathy Marston, Claudia Schreier, Yuri Possokhov, Justin Peck, Kiyon Ross, Helgi Tomasson, Remi Wörtmeyer, and Stanton Welch.
