Step into an evening where movement meets the lens.
Ballet Meets Film: A Premiere invites you to experience the debut screening of a new Pointeworks ballet film, featuring choreographer Jacquelyn Long’s latest creation, Moving Forces. Created ahead of its live stage premiere, the film offers a rare first look into a work that will come to life at the The Conrad Prebys Performing Arts Center on June 13.
Set within the galleries of the San Diego Museum of Art, this intimate evening brings audiences closer to the creative process—where choreography, camera, and composition converge. The screening will be accompanied by insights from composer Katie Jenkins, who will share reflections on the score and her collaboration with Long.
Following the premiere, guests are invited to linger—connect with Pointeworks dancers, explore the museum galleries, and enjoy refreshments in a relaxed, social setting.
Refined yet approachable, cinematic yet deeply human, this is an opportunity to experience ballet from a new perspective—before it reaches the stage.
Date to be announced.
