Season III

launch

Past, present, future

May 29, 2026

hosted at the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego

May 29th marked the launch of Season III - a virtuosic season with the most artists, designers, choreographers, musicians, community outreach events, and commitment to our mission yet. Guests gathered to experience a glamorous soiree of ballet, fashion, and closer look at Pointeworks: where we started, how far we’ve come, and our exciting future ahead, and all hosted at the gorgeous Museum of Contemporary Art, San Diego.

Offering new ways to experience ballet and Pointeworks, an exhibition on ballet costumes greeted guests offering a living gallery of pieces that are required to do more than just be worn. Pointeworks has proudly commissioned original costumes for 13 ballets and all hand designed and sewn to fit each dancer.

Each ticket permitted bar access to grab a drink and bite before waking to view the ocean and listening to the jazz-inspired band Cobby Music who played live the whole night.

Next- the ballet performance.

Set against the sunsetting across the ocean horizon, three dancers began an awe-striking excerpt from Transcendence by Reka Gyulai and wearing costumes by Christina Rader. Next performances was a Pas de Deux from Moving Forces, specifically the dance between Water and Earth danced in costumes by Lauren Carmen.

This performance showcase offered guests an up-close look at our dancers, the movement, and ballet costumes.

After the performance, dancers and guests mingled and the evening culminated in a raffle with prizes from local businesses like the Grand Colonial Hotel, Native Poppy, and Queenstown.
