What Happens When Words Are No Longer Enough?

This June, Pointeworks brings Dani Rowe’s UnSaid to the stage as part of Nocturnes: Five Ballets at The Conrad.

Created for San Francisco Ballet in 2019, UnSaid is an intimate and emotionally charged pas de deux set to music by Ezio Bosso.

Described as “thrilling” by the San Francisco Examiner, the ballet explores the tension between connection and silence — the emotions that live beneath words.

Dani Rowe is an internationally renowned choreographer and current Artistic Director of Oregon Ballet Theatre. After a celebrated performance career with The Australian Ballet, Morphoses, Houston Ballet, and Nederlands Dans Theater, Rowe has become one of ballet’s most compelling contemporary voices.

Her choreography has been created for companies including San Francisco Ballet, Pacific Northwest Ballet, Royal New Zealand Ballet, and Oregon Ballet Theatre. Her acclaimed dance film Corps-en-tine was praised by Vogue as “one of the best things to come out of quarantine.”

This summer, Pointeworks is honored to present UnSaid staged by Sofiane Sylve, who originated the ballet alongside Aaron Robison in its 2019 premiere.

A former principal dancer with New York City Ballet, San Francisco Ballet, and Het Nationale Ballet, Sylve brings extraordinary artistic insight into the studio as Pointeworks dancers begin rehearsals for this powerful work.
